Learning overview & student feedback

About the internship

Mathematical Modeling or also called Model-Based Design (MBD) is the mandatory need for industries in sectors such as Aerospace, Space research, Automotive, Energy production, Embedded systems, Motor & Controllers, Control System Engineering or for any sector involved in engineering & development. Because, you can model any system in the universe, study it’s behavior in static & dynamic conditions if you have the equations to solve.

The 4-week internship program will involve you to build real-world applications using the numerical modeling software called Scilab & Scilab-Xcos. It will be 100% practical & hands-on oriented content, taught online to meet the industry requirements. Learning at an internship will give you the opportunity to extend yourself to build any system and take up the projects of your interest.

Every participant will require a laptop and the Scilab software (given by Decibels after registration) to take part in the internship. Every student will have to build the models along with the trainer and involve in everyday reporting.

During week 1 & week 2, interns will learn the Scilab & Scilab-Xcos software tools by solving the simpler problems, taking up assignments, and building the models. By the end of week 2, you will have a solid understanding & grip on the software tool. By then you will be ready to start your major projects during week 3 & week 4.

During week 3 & week 4, interns will be individually assigned with projects, depending on your department of studies & industry applications. Interns will have to individually build the projects and perform the result analysis with the document reporting. Assigned Projects are very important to learn the application of tools and also an opportunity to understand, how to build and analyze a system.

Upon completing the 4 weeks, Decibels will provide you the list of projects you can build to gain the application of Mathematical Modeling/Model-Based Design. Projects are given the highest preference because industries always look for engineers with the project experience. By involving more projects, you can gain the experience that industry demands, so forth you get hired.
