About Course

Do you wonder how electric scooter, car, trucks companies does the component sizing such as Motor torque (peak & nominal), Motor RPM, Motor current (peak & nominal), Transmission ratios, Battery pack size (kW), Range per charge, Regenerative braking, Cell selection, Cell current, Cell thermals and more?

And you wish to understand the Math behind it? Then this course is for you.

Course contact & flow:

We will understand the resistive forces acting on the vehicle such as

  1. Rolling resistance
  2. Aerodynamic resistance
  3. Gradient forces
  4. Acceleration forces

We will take an example of Ather 450 scooter and calculate the resistive forces acting on the vehicle. From the data of resistive forces, we will arrive at

  1. Wheel torque
  2. Wheel RPM

Considering the transmission in Ather 450, we will calculate the

  1. Motor torque
  2. Motor RPM
  3. Motor current
  4. Motor Power

And we will perform calculations on

  1. Battery current
  2. Battery pack power
  3. Number of cells required in series & parallel
