Electric Vehicle Laboratory
Decibels Lab's EV Lab Setup at TVS IQL
We have established the “Electric Vehicle Laboratory at TVS IQL”, which was commissioned on 23rd August 2025. This advanced facility has been designed to provide apprentices, engineers, and researchers with hands-on learning opportunities in the field of electric vehicles. The lab enables participants to explore, test, and understand the fundamentals of EV systems while also engaging in advanced projects that reflect real-world applications.
The laboratory is equipped with a range of state-of-the-art tools and training benches that strengthen the foundations of EV technology and allow in-depth exploration of critical domains. Some of the key installations include:
With this comprehensive infrastructure, the lab provides TVS employees and apprentices a unique opportunity to bridge theoretical learning with practical implementation, ensuring they gain the confidence to innovate in the EV domain.
Looking ahead, Decibels Lab envisions this facility evolving into a Center of Excellence for Electric Vehicle Powertrain & Battery Management Systems (BMS). The focus will be on advancing model-based design approaches, algorithm development, CAN communication, and powertrain optimization. By strengthening these areas, we aim to build capabilities that enhance efficiency, safety, and performance in electric vehicles.
Through continuous upskilling programs and industry-driven training, the EV Laboratory at TVS IQL will play a pivotal role in preparing the workforce to lead innovations in sustainable mobility. This initiative further reinforces the shared vision of Decibels Lab and TVS to accelerate the growth of cutting-edge EV technology and contribute to the future of clean transportation.
Employees get practical hands-on training in batteries, BMS, CAN communication, and EV powertrains.
They learn to improve battery performance and efficiency, reducing costs and extending battery life.
Teams understand how BMS and VCU manage charging, discharging, and safety functions.
Trained employees can share knowledge with colleagues, creating a culture of continuous learning.
Employees practice integrating EV systems, making vehicles perform better and more reliable.
They gain skills to adapt to new EV technologies quickly.
Employees can test faults and safety scenarios, ensuring vehicles are safe and robust.
