Overview of Lab established at Tata Motors - Lucknow


We have established the "Electric Vehicle Laboratory at Tata Motors, Lucknow," which was commissioned on March 25th, 2024. This state-of-the-art lab serves as a hub for apprentices and researchers to delve into various aspects of electric vehicle (EV) technology. Designed to provide hands-on learning experiences, the lab enables participants to conduct in-depth research projects and gain practical experience in EV fundamentals and development. By offering such immersive training, the lab plays a crucial role in educating graduate engineers and advancing EV technology.


The Electric Vehicle Laboratory has advanced tools and equipment that facilitate comprehensive training for Tata Motors employees. The lab's agenda focuses on setting a strong foundation in EV fundamentals and upskilling employees in the EV domain. Through practical sessions and real-world applications, employees acquire valuable insights into the operational intricacies of electric vehicles. Looking forward, Decibels Lab is committed to creating a centre of excellence in electric vehicle Battery Management Systems (BMS) algorithm development. This initiative aims to enhance the efficiency, lifespan, and safety of batteries by developing smarter algorithms for state estimation, charge/discharge optimisation, and thermal management. By focusing on cutting-edge research and development in BMS technology, we aspire to push the boundaries of what is possible in the EV domain, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
