Overview of the Electric Vehicle Center of Excellence at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering

The Electric Vehicle Center of Excellence (EV CoE) at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering was successfully commissioned on 6th April 2026, in collaboration with Decibels Lab. This initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening industry-aligned education, hands-on learning, and advanced skill development in electric mobility.

The EV CoE is designed to provide integrated exposure to battery technologies, Battery Management Systems (BMS), and electric powertrain systems, enabling a complete understanding of electric vehicle engineering.

The facility is equipped with three key systems that together enable end-to-end learning across EV domains.

  1. Li-ion Cell Testing
  2. Model-Based Single Cell BMS Software Development Board
  3. Advanced Electric Vehicle Powertrain Setup

To ensure effective utilization of the facility, Decibels Lab conducted a 3-day intensive hands-on training program on 6th, 7th, and 8th April 2026 for faculty members and students. The sessions focused on practical system operation, experiment execution, safety practices, and real-world EV applications, enabling participants to confidently work with the lab infrastructure.

The Electric Vehicle Center of Excellence at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering empowers the institution to deliver practical, application-driven learning in electric vehicle technology. It supports academic projects, enhances technical competencies, and aligns learning outcomes with evolving industry needs. Through this collaboration with Decibels Lab, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering strengthens its commitment to developing future-ready engineers equipped with hands-on expertise and system-level understanding in EV technology.
