Overview of Lab established at SVERI's College Of Engineering, Pandharpur


We have established a state-of-the-art Electric Vehicle (EV) Lab at SVERI’s College of Engineering, Pandharpur, Maharashtra, on 3rd June 2025, in collaboration with Decibels Lab. This initiative aims to support innovation, research, and practical learning in the rapidly growing field of electric mobility.

The lab is designed to serve as a hands-on platform for students, researchers, and faculty to gain real-world experience in key EV technologies. It is equipped with advanced systems that cover the essential aspects of battery technology and electric powertrain development:

  1. Lithium-Ion Cell Testing and Characterization Unit
  2. Lithium-Ion Battery Pack Testing Unit
  3. Lithium-Ion Battery Pack Manufacturing Lab
  4. Electric Vehicle Advanced Powertrain Bench

These facilities provide a comprehensive understanding of battery behavior, safety standards, cell and pack-level testing, and performance analysis of EV propulsion systems. The Cell Testing Unit allows learners to examine electrochemical properties and degradation behaviors of cells, while the Battery Pack Labs offer exposure to pack assembly, safety validation, and functional testing under different load conditions. The Advanced Powertrain Bench enables simulation, control strategy testing, and drivetrain performance analysis—essential for modern EV design.

This collaboration between SVERI’s College of Engineering and Decibels Lab is a strategic step toward integrating industry-aligned training within the academic environment. It empowers students to develop practical skills required for careers in battery testing, EV system design, diagnostics, and performance engineering.

Looking ahead, both institutions aim to upgrade this lab into a Center of Excellence in Electric Vehicle Technology, with plans to introduce more sophisticated tools, simulation software, and structured training modules. The vision is to build a future-ready ecosystem that promotes research, industry collaboration, and technical skill development, driving forward the innovation in the electric vehicle sector.
