Product Overview

Learn electric vehicle technology on a real production car. The Tata Nexon EV 4W Learning Vehicle gives trainees direct access to a full electric SUV, built on Tata’s Ziptron EV powertrain with a permanent magnet synchronous motor and lithium-ion battery pack. Instead of working only from diagrams, students and technicians can inspect the high-voltage system, watch charging behavior on both AC and DC, and practice diagnostics on a platform they are likely to meet in the workshop. Whether you are training service technicians, teaching automotive engineering students, or building EV skills for your team, this vehicle turns theory into hands-on experience.

Key Experiments You Can Perform

  • High-Voltage System Walkthrough

Identify the battery pack, motor, inverter, on-board charger, and high-voltage cabling on the vehicle. Trace the orange high-voltage cables, locate the service disconnect, and match each component to its role in the drive and charging system.

  • AC and DC Charging Comparison

Charge the Nexon EV from the 7.2 kW AC EVSE and from a DC fast charger. Record charge time, energy delivered, and power over the session, then explain why DC charging reaches 80% so much faster.

  • Diagnostic Scan and Live Data Review

Connect the diagnostic tool and read battery state, live data, and stored fault codes with the vehicle at rest and while charging. Interpret each reading, identify the system involved, and record the steps for resolving it.

  • Safe High-Voltage Isolation Procedure

Following the manufacturer’s service procedure, practice isolating the high-voltage system before inspection. Use insulated tools and PPE to remove the service disconnect, verify zero voltage with the CAT III multimeter, and document each step.
