Overview of Lab Established at LUXEV - Bengaluru

We have established the “Electric Vehicle Laboratory” at LUXEV, Bengaluru, which was commissioned on 24th October 2025. This advanced facility has been set up by Decibels Lab to support testing, validation, and research in next-generation electric vehicle technologies. The lab is designed to empower engineers, researchers, and professionals with hands-on exposure to EV testing platforms, control systems, and algorithm development, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial applications.

The Electric Vehicle Laboratory at LUXEV is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure to facilitate comprehensive EV research and upskilling. The key systems installed include:

  • Model-Based Multi-Cell BMS Software Development Board
  • 2W Chassis Dynamometer – Road Load Simulation
  • Advanced Motor Test Bench

These facilities collectively enable users to gain practical insights into battery management, vehicle calibration, and powertrain performance, helping them understand the real-world behavior of electric vehicles under simulated conditions.

Looking ahead, Decibels Lab envisions this collaboration as a step toward developing a Center of Excellence in Electric Vehicle Testing and BMS Algorithm Development at LUXEV. The goal is to continue advancing EV testing methodologies, promoting innovation-driven learning, and equipping engineers with the skills required to shape the future of electric mobility and sustainable transportation.

Outcomes of Electric Vehicle Laboratory:

  • Hands-on experience in EV testing, validation, and calibration using real-world platforms.

  • Skill development in BMS software algorithm design and model-based simulation.

  • Practical understanding of two-wheeler performance through chassis dynamometer testing.

  • Exposure to motor characterization, efficiency mapping, and control tuning.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret test data from CAN and real-time logging systems.

  • Enhanced readiness for careers in EV R&D, testing, and powertrain engineering.

  • Strengthened collaboration between academia and industry for innovation in e-mobility.

  • Foundation for future research and development in advanced EV technologies.
